What information do we collect?
In addition to the info you enter at the time of your registration to Karkoona (e-mail, country and state and license plates) and the optional info you may enter at a later time (name, mobile phone number, gender, address, vehicle manufacturer and vehicle details such as color and fuel type) we will also collect your location through our mobile app. Keep in mind that you can disable this behaviour in the mobile app settings by unchecking "Attach Location Info to Notifications". Your location info is not and will not be shared with anyone in the future, except in the form of anonymized data for statistical purposes (eg. to pinpoint areas where the largest concentration of downvote-loaded messages were sent).
How long will you keep my information for?
Your information may be kept indefinitely. Deactivating your account will not remove your information from our servers.
What do you use my information for?
For the time being, your information is used to link your e-mail with your license plates and your country of registration so that we can offer you our services. It is not shared with third parties except analytics providers, who collect anonymized data and process it in order for us to better understand how Karkoona is used and how we can improve our service. As stated in Paragraph 1, this may change in the future, depending on our monetization strategy. You will be notified and asked to approve of any changes before you can keep using Karkoona.

How do you secure my information?
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.
